He had never ridden, but after researching the history of polo, realized it was part sport and part training for the battlefield. He took lessons with a local club, and was ready to give up when he met Martin Estrada.
After one lesson with Martin, he realized that he was doing everything wrong. Now, Nidish is competing in coaching chuckers and thrilled to be part of the comradery of BPC.
“Martin opened the door to the world of polo and now the possibilities are endless.” Nidish Mada

Glen Powell is a business owner who has always enjoyed learning new disciplines. Growing up he participated in team roping and wanted to try something different, so he decide to take polo lessons. He heard great things about Martin Estrada and Brandywine Polo Club. Glen describes Martin’s teaching style as effective, detail oriented and precise. “Martin always has a great attitude and is extremely patient. He pays attention to the most finite details. He has taught me so much about horsemanship, match strategy and field play.” Glen Powell
Keith Powell
Glen’s son Keith is a high school senior who had too much time on his hands due to Covid 19. Glen approached Martin Estrada about a full time immersion into polo for his son. Keith had never ridden a horse. Keith moved into the polo “Yellow House” and six days a week, Keith (now nicknamed “Paco”) is learning everything about polo, including mucking stalls, feeding, field maintenance and riding. Under Martin’s tutelage, Keith is now playing in coaching chuckers in only one month. “This has been the best experience of my life. Martin and his team have welcomed me as part of their family.” Keith Powell

Bonnie grew up riding horses and helping her family’s harness racing hobby. Due to family and personal medical issues, Bonnie fell into a deep depression. After years struggling with her depression, a friend took her to a polo match at Brandywine Polo Club. She was instantly hooked. When she asked how she could take lessons, she was told to speak to Martin Estrada. The next day, she took her first lesson and has never looked back. She took lessons that summer and followed Martin to Florida. Bonnie is a playing member and plays in low level tournaments and coaching chuckers.
“Martin Estrada saved my life. He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. He thinks I can be great. His passion for the sport and mentoring changed the course of my life.”
