Martin Estrada cannot remember a time when horses were not a part of his life, growing up on his family's farm in Santa Fe, Argentina. Martin is the fourth generation of the Estrada family that has been involved with polo ponies, breeding and the sport of polo. Martin continues his family's polo tradition and created his own bloodline stock, which has produced top polo ponies playing around the world and competing at all levels.
Martin has been a USPA member since 1985. Through diligence and hard work, he achieved a handicap rating of 6 goals as an American player. Two serious polo accidents curtailed Martin's high goal aspirations. His time away from playing sparked his entrepreneurial drive, which led him to focus on teaching and producing top polo ponies.
Martin has over 30 years of teaching experience and owned and developed for 12 years, the very successful Palm Beach Polo Academy and Polo Club at Gulf Stream Polo Club in Lake Worth, FL.
At the Academy, Martin was one of the first instructors to organize four chucker games and pro pools for players learning the sport. He also created the successful "two contact" rule which limited a pro to two hits per play, allowing a quicker dispersal of the ball and giving all players more time in the play.
Martin earned his USPA Instructor Certification and continues to grow and support the sport of polo through the introduction and teaching of proper horsemanship, as well as the correct way to play polo safely. As a world renowned horseman and rider, there is no doubt you are going to love his horses! Martin believes polo should be fun, affordable and experienced by everyone with a desire to learn.
